So here I sit watching a great playoff game between two teams who I'm just still stunned were even competitive this year. And what a game it is. These two teams have been nothing short of horrible this past decade. One led by probably the best rookie Q.B. I've ever seen and the other by an over-the-hill Q.B. that just won't go away. Win or lose, these teams should truly be proud of themselves after the years they've had.
But as I'm watching this I'm thinking of the second game tonight. No, not that one (even though the 12-4 underated Colts at the 8-8 surging Chargers is very intriguing), the Caps game. Yes I live in D.C. and I'm a huge Caps fan. They are going for six straight and 10 of 11. And they have done this most of the year without several key players. Clark, Poti, Federov, oh and a guy named Semin. We'll see what happens tonight but I think they'll pull it off.
Either way, what a great sports night.

ReplyDeleteThis is adrift but I have heard somne rumors that the Skins may be looking to trade Carlos (Rogers) this offseason and hope to sign D Hall to an extension. How do you feel about this? I think I would like to see the Skins lock both up in hopes of building a stable CB tandem for the future (I believe D Hall was a blessing falling in to our laps)...thoughts? Hall will turn 26 midseason and Carlos will be 28 when the '09 season starts...
Whats up Sandman? Personally, I couldn't agree more and I've actually discussed this with many other Skins fans. How great would those two be for years to come. They have an infatuation with Springs though... and while I love Springs, Rogers is more of an asset. With that said, I don't think they will trade Rogers. Yeah they need draft picks but they'd have to be blown away with an offer and I just don't see that happening. I mean Rogers did have a very solid year but he's already had one serious knee injury so I doubt any team would give up what the Skins front office would ask for. Just an opinion though. Who knows with their front office works. Anyways, thanks for commenting and checking newerasportstalk out. Oh, and they will be locking up Hall long term very soon.
